Main lines of research
The main goal of our group is to study the immune response of hosts to face pathogenic microorgan- isms, and decipher the molecular mechanisms that regulate the interaction between host and pathogen. Thus, we study host response mechanisms, resist- ance and evasion systems developed by pathogens.
• Molecular dissection of host cellular systems in- volved in the immune response to front pathogens.
• Analysis of Klebsiella pneumoniae adaptations to
survive in the lung.
• Analysis of antimicrobial peptide resistance
mechanisms.
• Molecular mechanisms of bacterial infection as- sociated to COPD exacerbation.
• Identification and preclinical evaluation of novel host-directed therapies to treat respiratory infec- tion by the bacterial pathogen nontypable Haemo- philus influenzae.
• Molecular evolution and human host adaptation of the bacterial pathogen nontypable Haemophi- lus influenzae.
