Strategic subprogrammes
The strategic subprogrammes defined within the framework of the DAPET programme are listed below .
Scientific Objectives
•	To improve and monitor knowledge concerning the state of health of immigrant population in the field of communicable and non-communicable diseases .
- To update evidence concerning the state of health of immigrant population in relation to infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases and their determinants in Spain
- To identify determinants related to health problems that are linked to communicable diseases in immigrant population
• To foment collaboration among groups from different fields of the Health and Immigration subprogramme
- To boost the identification of collaborative projects among groups of the Health and Immigration subprogramme
- To facilitate joint publications among groups of the subprogramme •	To evaluate Health and Immigration subprogramme results
- To diversify and increase the number of identified sources of funding and the number of delivered projects
- To maintain the number of scientific publications delivered to indexed journals from the subprogramme
The spheres of action and lines of research of the subprogramme are the following:
•	Contextual determinants - Health Inequality (Rosa Puigpinós) - Occupational health (Fernando Benavides) - Health policies, systems and services (María Luisa Vázquez)
•	Non-communicable diseases - Mental health and drug dependency (Teresa Brugal and Francisco Collazos) - Sexual and reproductive health (Paco Bolúmar) - Cancer prevention (Silvia de Sanjosé)
•	Communicable diseases . - HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (Meritxell Sabidó)
