Health Service Evaluation





Programme The research groups attached to the Health Service Evaluation Programme have 
the same interest in conducting collaborative research of excellence in health ser-

vice evaluation focusing on the priorities of the National Health System for the 
purpose of directly transferring their results to decision-making in health policy, in 

management, in clinical practice and in patient’s decisions.

The development of this new subprogramme which results from previous strategic

Programme 6 started in 2013 with the name Health and Social Burden Of Chronic 
Diseases (BURDEN OF DISEASE).

Scientific Objectives:



• To estimate the health and social burden of chronic diseases based on the 

Continuous Working Life Sample (MCVL) with mortality and temporary and 
permanent disability data for 2009.

• To develop and validate measuring instruments and indicators of disease 20
burden (well-being, health, disability, loss of productivity and use/consump- T

tigators by means of a free access repository (BiblioPRO).
