Role of infectious agents in chronic diseases

The activity of the Immigration and Health subprogramme started in July 2012 with
the setting-up of the Executive Committee with Dr. Elena Ronda and Dr. Jordi Casa-
bona as the co-coordinators and the incorporation of Project Manager, Dr. Cristina
Hernando. The objectives and activities of said Subprogramme for the period of
July 2012 – April 2013 are found in this report.
• To improve and monitor knowledge concerning the state of health of immigrant

Objectives
- To update evidence concerning the state of health of immigrant population
in relation to infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases and their
determinants in Spain
- To identify determinants related to health problems that are linked to
communicable diseases in immigrant population
